Nellim is a working wilderness village (population 220) on the eastern shore of Lake Inari. The aurora bubbles are set apart from the main lodge in their own clearing, each with a panoramic transparent dome over the bed and a wood-fired hot tub on the porch.
The lodge runs Sámi cultural evenings, ice-fishing on the lake, and one of the few certified guided aurora-photography programmes in Finland. Rooms book out a year in advance for the February peak.
